DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 102 begins in the City of Hawkeye and travels northerly to a junction with US 18 approximately one and one‑half miles north of the City of Hawkeye.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑102‑0 (3)‑‑2M‑33, between the City of Hawkeye and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 102 from the north line of Main Street northerly to the north corporation line of Hawkeye to city jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑102‑0 (2)‑‑2M‑33, between Fayette County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 162 from the north corporation line of the City of Hawkeye northerly to a junction with US 18 at a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 18‑T94N‑R9W to county jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the attached description of Iowa 102 in Fayette County from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 102 and its extension in Fayette County as follows:

Hawkeye:

Beginning on an unnamed street at the north line of Main Street; thence northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Hawkeye, connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following substantially the center section line through Sections 19 and 18‑T94N‑R9W to a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 18‑T94N‑R9W (junction US 18).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 102 in Fayette County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 102 in Fayette County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
